We offer advanced medical-grade laser treatments for both footcare and aesthetic skin concerns in our clinics.
Using the latest Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser technology, we deliver safe, effective treatment options whether you're treating fungal nails, acne, pigmentation, or unwanted tattoos.
Fungal nail, or onychomycosis, is a common infection of the nail caused by fungi that thrive in warm, moist environments. It can make the nail thicken, become crumbly, change color (often to yellow or white), and sometimes lift away from the skin. Our laser treatment offers a non-invasive way to tackle fungal infections at the source, without oral medications.
Laser is ideal for persistent or recurring fungal nail infections that haven't responded to creams.
Benefits:
Studies show a 70% success rate, and for best results, we typically recommend 4 laser sessions, although research suggests that 3 to 6 sessions may be needed depending on the severity of the infection.
The laser uses infrared beams that are absorbed in the dark pigments that are often found in the common species of fungus that infects nails.
The second, green laser beam interacts with reddish brown pigment that is also frequently present in the fungal filaments. The absorption of the laser light is designed to destroy the fungus and spores.
You will receive an initial consultation to assess your condition and determine if laser treatment is suitable for you. If appropriate, your first treatment can be performed during the same visit.
Each session is spaced approximately four weeks apart depending on your individual treatment plan.
During the procedure, you may experience a mild warming sensation on the toenail- this is normal and typically well-tolerated. Laser sessions usually take around 15 minutes.
Please note these treatments are currently available in Cosham and Whiteley only.
